Sí, Se Puede
Cesar Chavez Dolores Huerta
This mural celebrates the legacy of civil rights leaders Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta while inspiring the underserved students of Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, a historically redlined East Los Angeles neighborhood. The artwork, prominently featured at the entrance of the College Track campus inside Boyle Heights City Hall, depicts Chavez and Huerta's tireless activism through vignettes incorporated into their silhouettes. Surrounding their portraits are scenes of students engaged in STEM learning, graduating, celebrating with family, and the East LA skyline, symbolizing the promise of a brighter future through education and community. As students ascend the stairs and enter the building, they are greeted by these influential figures, a daily reminder of the power of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of social justice.
